Broken Primary Clutch Springs ??

Polaris uses a plastic retaining nut on the ATV clutches, I wonder if you swapped this part out if it would help the springs live?

It looks like 3 weeks before I can get an order of washers made up in volume. I am not going to wait that long. I ordered some delrin strips yesterday and will cut my own. If I can get 10 people to commit to buy 2 washers for $10 shipped, then I will place the order for the washers, keep in mind it will be a month before they arrive at your door. Otherwise, I'm not gonna screw with the volume that the company requires to place an order with them.

The steel spring is pressing into the alum of the clutch and is wearing a notch into it, causing the binding. If you never get full shift out on your primary, you will have less issues with breakage.

If Indydan already has them, I'm definitely not going to place the other order. I don't need the hassle of trying to unload 100 washers when somebody else already has them made up.

Thanks for the washers Dan, it was good to talk to you again.

Your welcome Todd, Good to chat with you too.

Ski..... If you want to make them I'll jump out, I am pretty sure this will be more work then its worth but I will deal with it.

Heres what I desided to make it worth the effert.

This is the same concept as the TEAM Delrin washers.... EXCEPT !! The ones you buy from Indy Specialty will not look as nice they will not be de-burred they are sliced off with a parting tool as fast as they can be done. If I hire someone to stand around and make them look pretty like a TEAM driven one I would have to triple the price & it would still be a loss.

I sell them in a pak of 3 for $30.00 plus $5.00 shipping, each clutch needs 1 washer.......... 2 is a waste of money 1 will do the same thing and it does not matter which side of the spring you put it on. you can sell the other ones to your riding pals. ** ( But Consider this ) ** If it happens to be a harmonic problem rather then a binding problem then 2 washers one on each end of the spring may icolate it enough from the metal to metal contact..... in effect may save the spring from taking the Oprea singer wine glass explosion.

If this seems to high someone else is welcome to jump on board and deal with all that goes on with the phone, invoicing, running credit cards, & shipping washers.

If you want them please e-mail me where you want them shipped and a phone number and I will call you for payment.

Simpler yet send a paypal payment of $35.00 to indydan1@hotmail.com
and type in a note that you want a pak of 3 Slick Shift Washer they will ship the same day.

I wasn't planning on making any, I found a company that would make them, but they only want volume. I can have them made as cheap as $.38 a piece, but I'd have to order 500 of the damn things. I did order 5' of delrin material in the mean time, so I'll have that early next week and can cut enough for my friends and I for only $1 a piece. Much simpler for me and you can still make a buck as well.

I know the delrin material is pretty thin, but will adding one or two of these change the drive spring compression rate at all?

Ski, Do you have a link to where you purchased the delrin material from? Thanks

I ordered it from McMaster, checked th tracking # and it will be here today! Get to have it for the weekend.

Just paypal'd ya, thx!

Just shipped them sled-fiend.

skippy get off your lazy a$$ and drive down and i'll give them to you for free you cheap skate.

Shipping washers that cost .38 cent each and marking them up to $1 is not making a buck....... its loosing your a$$ behond words. It takes $3000.00 a mouth to turn the key to open the doors of a 2 man shop.

.62 cents........ I hope retirement is enjoyable for you Ski. Hurry up and get them done so I can stop this massive profit sceem I have going here.

LOL!!! I am sure a group buy is coming and they should be .39 cents when that comes around with free shipping. :face-icon-small-ton

Typing on SW also drives the margin down.

Back to work.
