hey guys i heard the 09 dragon 163 has a 19t top gear stock now, so if i get a 42 bottom will it fit, is the chain the same?
the 09 has 19t gear stock!

how positive are you on them having a 19t there is a conflict from the build sheet and mircophish

The specs that came with my 09 D8 163 also say 19T up top and 41 on the bottom

im not 100% but i went in to the dealer today to order my 19t 42 gears and they told me that it already comes with a 19tooth gear in the top so i bought a 42 bottom, when i opened the gear when i got home the instructions said for sleds without reverse wtf is going on here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats what both of my spec sheets say but when you look on polaris parts land
it says they have 9: 3221096 Sprocket, 20T, 3/4W

ok i heard the 155 is 20t and the 163 is a 19t??????????
flit-e by the picture it looks like it says 20-t but I counted the teeth and it has 19 also what is the bottom a 41 or a 42-t thanks.
i have both of the 155/163's build sheets say they have 19T and now that i have seen that the 155 does the build sheet is correct?

what would the gears care if they roll forward or backward, they are straight cut???

I think the instructions are refering to the old school mechanical reverse...The gears (bottom) were different on those set ups.
the instructions say that cause they also fit the older sleds....so it wont work for a mechanical reverse sled..takes a special gear for mechanical reverse...but they are fine on perc sleds...

I was told polaris did a last minute regear for more performance...they monitor these forums and must of decided it was a easy change with good results...
if you look in parts land at the 08 special build it had a 19t so i would imagine that all the early 09 rides had 19/41 gearing

yep..08's got 20/41..I run 19/42 and love it way more snappy
Just wondering if anyone has tried any other gearing on their 08 D8. One of my dealers wants me to try a 20 top and a 43 bottom. He said they have had better with Polaris by going deeper with the bottom gear, I know it means changing the chain. what do you guys think?
