I am looking at buying a couple of RMK 900's. Can anyone give me some information on what years had the vibration problem? I have heard other riders talk about this. Thanks

I have an '06, notice it a bit at idle but once you start going it's nothing... nothing real bad though

I have a 2005 900. It has more low RPM vibration than any other sled I have rode. The upper RPM range isn't that much different than other big bore sleds. You definitely notice it though. At the risk of being Mr. Obvious, if at all possible get a ride on one before you buy. As many here have said before it is a matter of personal preference.

Balancing the clutch helps.

... search for the string on INDYDAN discussing the motor case being too tight or too loose causing the vibration and early failure.

Also, most motor mount fixes cause more vibration.

There is a vibe pad made for the handle bars to absorb some of the vibration.

vibration?

Yah they shake a bit but you mostly feel it in your feet and only under 6000 rpm. The easy fix is to keep it pinned WFO.

i have a 05 and notice it a idle and a little above but thats is im getting my primary ballances to see if it changes anything.

Prior to balance replace/install any bushing weights or spring. These parts will create an imbalance on a balance clutch.

1200psi does good work . Brad's number is 435-753-2661.

I saw an 06 last weekend that had some rubber hershey kiss looking pads on the running boards. They ran the length of the board. Does anybody know what those are about or who made them?

Running Board "cushions"

DiamondDave..

the cushy running boards you most likely saw are listed on ebay at the moment..i have talked to the guy about them before..they are called SHOKBLOK'R..

the look nice and seem to serve a purpose but they will build with snow like no other, thats why i am going with Robs BETTER BOARDS...they are trick and not much more then these..

here is the link if your still interested.

Most people lock their feet in the running boards.

For vibration to the driver. Cheapest thing is to modify the bracket to the handle bars.

Put some rubber between the handle bar bracket mounting area.

Replace the existing bolts with grade 8 bolts to handle the flex.

POlaris did have a shokbloker for the handle bar that did exactly the same thing I just described.

Yep...

Pure Polaris parts (Factory Accessories)

BUT.... Like Don said... you really dont stand only on that part of the running board..

I like the Grip-n-rip isovibes or the Barsnake inserts for the handlebars.

If your sled vibes so much its uncomfortable... something is wrong... balance, out of true, bad mounts, torque stop adjusted too tight on the case or worn out etc...

That's exactly what they are. Are they an oem polaris part?

Polaris has a shokbloker for the handle bar part number

2900257

I have seen them sell for $70 and sell for $20 new.

Like I said before don'ty use the bolts provided.

Get grade 8 bolts plus drill in another set centerline the sled for more strength.

i have an 06 900 and it had the slp torque arm kit installed and there is little to no vibration at the low end and once you open her up it's really smooth, my brothers and dad also had the slp torque arm on their 900's and they said it helped cuz back the vibrations
