pro xr timing dial?

just wonderin a little bit about the timing dial on the xr's. are the settings based on temperature or what? I looked through my manuals for it but believe it or not its not in any of them. cant seem to find any info on google either. So any information to help me understand it would be GREAT!

Go check out www.hardcoresledder.com there is a prox section on there and many threads about this very thing.
The dial adjusts your timing +/-2 degrees per click from the "0" setting. I believe the racers use it when they have different fuels, altitude, compression, any of those things could let or need you to advance or retard your timing.
