thinking of buying a 09 d8.is it possible to install a fox air shock in the stock rear skid and ditch the springs to save weight and to get of that suspension sag.

I doubt it would work.. the stock rear scissor is not set up to handle that kind of force at the top shock mount nor is the transfer rod setup for this kind of load...

Have a look at the NexTech or K-Mod suspension kits... great price and it includes the shock and all parts to switch out the rear shock..

Valving would be a beothch to figure out as well on a trial/error method..

Just my 2 cents

Not possible without a longer rear scissors. The Fox Air's are too long for the stock mounting position. That's why Holz uses a longer rear arm & moves the mounting position back 2".
