Can anybody tell me what the ECU code 21 means,and what causes it to come on,this is on my 08 Crossfire 800 ?

look on your airbox it should list the codes and what is causing them to come on

It should be a knock sensor failure

Thanks for the replies,if it is a knock sensor failure,what is the cause of the failure,is it snow coming in through the side vents and down the air intake and into the throttle bodies and mixing in with the fuel ? If so,what can be done to prevent this from happening again, and is it harmful to the engine if it keeps on occurring ?

My 08 M8 has been setting a code 21 all the time this year... Found out this info today. Check for a white dot on your ecu, if it has it, recall has been done. Mine has orange dot, so looks like i will be getting a new ecu and no more 21 code!
