Does anybody know of a mod to the pull start gearing on a king?
Very difficult when extremely cold. My m1000 I can pull over with one hand.
No way on the king until she gets some heat in her.

Thanks John

idacatman1 or 3 has a conversion kit for them. Or you can just eat your Wheaties and man up, just don't go for the start on the first 4 pulls, just get it loose, go slow and the have one of your buddies go for it. :D

The coversion that fomoco is talking about is putting a recoil for a 1000 on the 900. You need to buy or make your own bolt plate and new basket and spacer. Pretty easy to do. In the real cold I turn mine over slow a few turns and then start it up. Mine's carbed so I do chock it before I shut it down the night before...it helps.

I'm running a bb mod and can still do it but you have to take out the slack and get it tight before you put the wood to it. this will keep you from killing the recoil unit.

I think I bought my ropes from 4zsnow on here. Same as slp's rope but less money.
If you go to rei, you probably should not tell them you want it for a snowmobile, you might get kicked out of the store!

The Answer!

Electric Start. Had it installed about a month ago. Only thing I didn't like was the battery located under the muffler.
