I've had three the stock 900 actually 862cc, then I had a 925 and now the 975 conversion. I think there's 1010 D&D, 1150 Cutler. Was there a 1200?

Just trivia nothin' more.........Owen

How about the 999 Mad Max, Many combos available! As long as you are not changing the stroke, It is a combination of bore sizes, Timing advance and porting together with what pipes and carb sizes that give you the end result! Even reducing the end of the pipes at altitude can make of break you? many 1000's can hold them selves against an 1150+ if tuned right!

Using stock cylinders, you are limited to right at 1000ccs. I have heard guys calling them 990, 1000, 1010 etc. They run really strong when tuned correctly.

Using aftermarket cylinders the Engine Tech 1160 and the Cutler 1150 or VERY potent when tuned right. You also need to make sure your crank is true and balanced when installing the kit, as I have seen many crank failures because of the extra HP.

CMX was using what looked like billet engine tech cyls and were claiming 1220 on the cat bottom end.

That was a joke aimed at PSI, CMX tried using the PSI 1200 and found out it was a pile with no customer service. They started using Art Sever's 1160 and called it a 1220. I thought they explained to every one it was a joke.

The 1220 stands for "beats the 1200 by 20 lenghts"

1160 set -ups

Don,
I'm running a 1160 billet from Engine Tech... They like lots of timing - I have a 4.5 * key in mine.. With the king cat ECU

When I bought mine a could hardly spin 72 grams at elevation.. I was really disapointed with the motor at first.

Had Terra Alps set me up... Did some port work , tuned the pipes, got the timing in check and made a huge diff... I have ran as heavy as 79 grams at 6000 ft (hero snow) but pulled hard... Not much naturally asperated will touch a well tuned Cat based big block...

If you have a stock 1150 with a 2.5 or 3* key stock porting etc. you will be around a 72 - 73 gram with a 320 finish rate spring. Depending on track you can run a 49* or 51* with good success.

If yo have a 4 or 4.5 Deg key with about 13.2 - 1 comp you may need a bit or race fuel... Then you should be able to spin 74-76 grams at 8000 rpms...

Progressive rate helixes help harness the torque of the big bores but get the primary running strong first.... I ended up running a 58 - 46 billet progressive helix....

Check you pipes back pressure as well.... if you ride 4000 - 7000 feet a 35mm choke will help alot with Jaws D pipes....

Don't ceramic coat you pipes --- The Jaws D's don't do well when they are really hot...

Just my $0.02
