Has any one been checking their oil ratios on the new M8 Or M1000 after breakin, Mine has been pig rich on oil so far on breakin. Just wondering

08 M1k 47 to 1 from the factory. Smokes pretty bad on startup

09 M1000 160 miles and it was 39:1 from factory. Two turns out and only got a short ride in but it came out to 53:1.

Multiply the number of gallons of gas used by 128, and divide this number by the number of ounces of oil that you used. For example, if you used 5 gallons of gas that would equate to 640 ounces (5x128=640). If you used 16 ounces of oil on that ride your ratio would be 40:1 (640/16=40), or 40 parts gas to 1 part oil. I typically target a ration of 40-50:1.

What's the "right" ratio?
Is there a general consensus on what is the "right" ratio to shoot for? I can't imagine going leaner than 48:1
