Replacing throttle valve on 2003 (late) AC 900 1m

I have a carb problem. I need to replace the throttle valve. How do you get the lever assembly out of the way to remove the throttle valve once you detach it from the lever assembly?

any techs on here?

Do I have to seperate the two carbs to remove the throttle lever shaft to get the lever arm out of the way to slide the throttle valve up and out??

I had found that schematic another place. I took out the screw holding the lever arm to the throttle lever shaft figuring it would allow me to slide the lever arm down the shaft out of the way, but the lever arm seems solidly attached to the shaft (won't slide down the shaft out of the way to allow you pull the throttle valve up and out). If I can get it out without breaking the two carbs apart I would prefer that, but it looks like that is the only way to slide the lever arm out of the way (by slidiing the whole shaft after seperating the two carbs)???
