2000 700 summit electrical surges

Hey guys my cousin has a 2000 700 summit and has a problem of the headlights burning out , start the machine they will get bright and then dimm out, but not burn out untill a few rides. Can a voltage regulator act up or just quit?

stator on these sleds to go is aknown problem. mine went in janurary on my old 00 700 HM. i have a spare laying around for sale.

but when mine went it was just a complete shut down all all electronics...your sounds different.

When A Voltage regulator fails on a Ski-doo it generaly burns all the lights out and will melt your handgrips. Make shure the voltage regulator is bolted tight to the frame, Check all your connections and apply some elecrical grease to your plug Ins. Your voltage could be on its way to failing.
